The Kingdom has a natural competitive edge in this sector, and while national policy has called for diversification, and limiting reliance on this sector, it continues to be a main driver of economic growth for the nation. The added revenue from current energy prices are fueling development throughout the Kingdom’s economic sectors. The “knowledge” aspects of the energy sector are the focus of KIF, and particular how to further expand knowledge services such as Engineering, R&D, and technological innovation aspects of the sector.
